Sports injuries often occur in athletes participating in organized, competitive, and training activities. Gym practices are also exposed to sports injuries that occur for various reasons including, among other things, improper workouts, lack of suitable shoes or safety equipment.
Acute injury

Chronic injury or overuse

Sprained joints and stretches to the joint or the surrounding tissue are the main sports-related injuries (a sprain is related to a ligament problem and a stretch is related to a muscle and tendon problem). Besides pain, the typical inflammatory response may include swelling of the damaged area, redness, and a decrease in the movement range of the joint. In addition to conventional treatment (rest, ice, stress, and lift), many athletes report that acupuncture therapy helps them suppress and rapidly reduce inflammation, pain and swelling, thus effectively returning to sporting activity quickly.

Acute injury – 2 sessions per week for two weeks (follow-up treatment will be determined according to the patient’s report).
Chronic injury – 2 weekly sessions for two or three weeks and then decreased once a week for 10 treatments.
A decrease in pain levels is felt in most cases even after the first treatment. The number of treatments required varies from patient to patient depending on the nature of the medical problem and the rate progression of the recovery.
