The large intestine is the last organ in the digestive system. Its role is to absorb the last water that stayed in the faeces. The most common disorder is Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Other common disorders are chronic diarrhea, polyps, and ulcers. Signs and symptoms of these disorders include:
From a TCM point of view the large intestine works together with the lungs. If the lungs fail in descending her energy to the large intestine a stagnation can take place in the large intestine. This stagnation can cause the different disorders.
Acupuncture will balance the energy between the large intestine and the lungs. The treatment will open the stagnation of the large intestine which will reduce pain, reduce bloating, and improve the faeces.
In addition to the treatment with acupuncture needles, I will give advice on nutrition and exercise. Acupressure massage can often be part of the treatment as well.
Normally the amount of treatments needed will be between 5 to 10, depending on your specific situation.
